What You Need To Know

  • Joining the Elite Senior Competition team requires dancers to have a strong foundation of expertise and dedication in the realm of dance. Dancers must have a minimum of three years of technical training in either Ballet or Jazz. While prior experience in additional styles such as Contemporary, Tap, or Commercial is desirable, it's not essential as comprehensive training will be offered across all disciplines. Previous competition experience is not required however a solid background in dance is crucial as participants will be training at an elite level. This ensures that the team maintains a high standard of performance and professionalism, allowing members to flourish and excel in the competitive dance arena.

  • At Company 57, we believe strongly in our commitment values, recognising their pivotal role in shaping not only our dancers' present endeavours but also their future successes. Central to this ethos is the belief that consistent attendance is key to progress and achievement.

As part of the Elite Senior Competition Team, students are provided with two 2 hour training sessions every week. One session is crafted to provide a comprehensive learning experience focusing on technical training and the other sessions focal point is learning choreography for competitions.

We require all students to attend a minimum of three training sessions per month, ensuring they engage consistently with their training and avoid falling behind. This dedication to regular practice instills valuable lessons in commitment from a young age, laying a solid foundation for their future endeavors.

Commitment is not just an individual pursuit but a cornerstone of teamwork as well. By upholding this value, we foster a culture where every member contributes to the collective growth and success of the team. Through mutual dedication and support, we strengthen bonds, elevate performance, and achieve our goals together.

  • Company 57 takes pride in its professional appearance, reflecting our commitment to excellence in every performance. As such, wearing the competition uniform is mandatory for all training sessions and competitions.

Once enrollment begins, parents will be provided with detailed information about the uniform options available for purchase. Upon acquiring the uniform, they will be passed on to us for customisation. Each student's uniform will be personalised with the Company 57 logo, and there's an optional choice to add the student's name for that extra touch of individuality.

While there is a variety of uniform options to choose from, some items are mandatory to ensure uniformity and cohesion within the team. Rest assured, our uniform policy aims to foster a sense of unity and pride among our dancers, enhancing their performance experience and presentation on stage.

  • As a member of Company 57's Elite Senior Competition Team, dancers will have access to a number of exciting opportunities to showcase their talent and individuality. Beyond participating in group dances, members will have the chance to audition for solos, duets, and trios, allowing them to shine in spotlight performances. These auditions will be open to all team members, fostering an inclusive environment where everyone has the chance to demonstrate their skills.

However, due to the necessity of focusing primarily on group performances and ensuring fair utilisation of all team members, spaces for solos, duets, and trios will initially be limited. This allocation ensures that each dancer receives equal opportunities and that the team's collective efforts remain the central focus. Nonetheless, Company 57 is committed to providing avenues for every member to contribute and grow, fostering a supportive and dynamic environment for artistic expression and achievement.

  • Dance competitions are exhilarating opportunities for our dancers to showcase their talent, dedication, and teamwork on a broader stage. However, it's important for parents to understand and commit to the demands and costs associated with these events.

Competitions may require parents to travel significant distances, sometimes up to 2-3 hours, to various parts of the country. This necessitates a substantial commitment from parents in terms of time, resources, and support for their child's passion.

Additionally, participating in competitions incurs various expenses including Dancer Fees for competing, Spectator Fees for parents wishing to watch, Costumes, Travel and sometimes Accommodation, and other associated costs. It's crucial for families to carefully consider these financial implications before signing up for a competition team.

Despite the challenges, attendance at competitions is vital for maintaining consistency within the team and maximizing the collective impact of our performances. Every member's participation contributes to the cohesion and success of the team, reinforcing our shared commitment to excellence.

Ultimately, dance competitions offer invaluable opportunities for growth, camaraderie, and memorable experiences. With thoughtful planning, dedication, and support from parents, our dancers can fully embrace the challenges and rewards of competition season, further enriching their dance journey.

  • At Company 57 we have a dynamic competition season! Our competition calendar is a thrilling journey that spans the entire year, with the exception of a well-deserved break during the summer months, from the end of June to the beginning of September.

Throughout the season, udancers can expect a packed schedule of competitions, typically one per month. However, if the team excels and qualify at Regional Levels, there's an exciting opportunity to advance to National Finals. This may occasionally result in two competitions falling within the same month, intensifying the excitement and challenge for our team.
